I saw the perfect home theater setup the other day. The setup included like a 57 inch plasma television with a huge surround sound system and beautiful home theater chairs to go with it. I would really like to turn my living room into a home theater but it is too small. I keep telling my other half that we need to move just so we can have a nice home theater.

Stephen Colbert may not be actually a viable candidate for president, but the man is definitely popular. His Facebook group, “1,000,000 Strong for Stephen T. Colbert” has passed 1,000,000 members in just five days. To put this in perspective, Barack Obama’s group has been up for nine months, and has just over 380,000 members. In. nine. months.

I think the fact that Lynne Cheney would appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to promote her book shows that she is one classy lady. After all, making fun her husband is what constitutes Jon Stewart’s bread and butter. She even made a joke about her husband being a regular guy - who likes old movies and every now and again bites the head off a live chicken. The book is called Blue Skies, No Fences, and it was while she was doing research for this book that she discovered that her husband, Vice President Cheney, and Barack Obama are distant cousins. That’s America, folks.

Are you watching The War? |

Are you watching Ken Burns’ The War on PBS this week? The story of World War II shows the best of the United States, but the fact that racism and segregation and ignorance were in full force also shows some of the worst of our country’s history. Burns has crafted an unflinching look at the United States’ role in World War II, and the very human faces of the people who lived through it. Watch it. We have a lot to learn from our nation’s history.
