Point Of Sale
March 23rd, 2009 under Blabber, Technology. [ Comments: none ]

When I used to work at H&R Block I used the POS system to check out people when they were getting ready to leave. The POS system meant the point of sale system and it would calculate all of the forms that people had to have done and add them all together to find out what the total cost was going to be. It was so handy!

Anniversary Shopping
February 8th, 2009 under Blabber, Technology. [ Comments: none ]

Our anniversary is coming up and I have been thinking about purchasing Victorinox Swiss Army watches. Swiss Army has always been a brand that is trusted to be great and last for a long time. I would like this gift to be something that will last a long time so I think that this is a perfect idea. I’ll have to do a bit more research before I purchase it, but this is what I am leaning towards.

Monitor Advice

My brother was talking about getting a Rackmount lcd monitor and I told him that it was a pretty good idea. His monitor recently broke and he was looking for a good quality solid monitor. I know that he is just learning about computers but I think he is making a really good choice from doing a little bit of research.

Wireless Connections

I use a Linksys router to run everything here in my house. The router runs 2 PCs, 1 laptop, TiVo, Xbox 360, PS3, and the Nintendo Wii. Out of all of those things the only one that is not wireless ready is the Xbox 360. They want to charge a lot to make it wireless capable but it came free in my other systems, what is up with that?

RAM

I could really use another couple of gigs of ram for my computer. I am sick of trying to play a few of my games and having them run choppy. I asked a bunch of my friends that are good with computers and they all said that I needed more ram. Ram is not really expensive so it is something that I can do for cheap and make my gaming experience so much better!

Computers

I am sick of buying out of the box computers that only last about a year. I always get the cheapest computer that I can find and I really need to stop doing that. I need to build my own computer instead of wasting money on a pre built one. I was looking at a barebones computer and they are not that expensive and I could add whatever I wanted to it to make it the perfect computer for me.

Home Theater Setup
April 4th, 2008 under Technology, Television. [ Comments: none ]

I saw the perfect home theater setup the other day. The setup included like a 57 inch plasma television with a huge surround sound system and beautiful home theater chairs to go with it. I would really like to turn my living room into a home theater but it is too small. I keep telling my other half that we need to move just so we can have a nice home theater.

Church secretary gets ticked at Comcast
January 4th, 2008 under Criminals, Technology, That's Outrageous!. [ Comments: none ]

I can understand this woman’s frustration. Maybe not what she did to vent it, but I can feel her pain. She signs up for Comcast Triple Play – you know, phone service, cable, and high-speed internet all in one package. The tech doesn’t show up at the scheduled time. He comes two days later – and only does half the job. Then, on top of that, Comcast turns off her service two days later. The woman and her husband head to the Comcast office, and wait for two hours to see the manager. After the two hours, they are told that the manager has left for the day. Pretty crappy, right? Well, this church secretary isn’t taking it laying down. She went back to Comcast the following Monday, took hammer and started destroying office equipment.
