Last week’s Daytona race was a great one, I just love green, white, checker races! I was hoping that when I went to Talladega they would do that, but for some reason they said they were on the last lap even though the counter on the field said that they still had 2 laps to go. I am looking forward to the race tomorrow I am curious to see if this new guy keeps going like that or if it was total beginner’s luck!
I went to Alabama last week because my dad had bought tickets for him and I to go to the Talladega race. The second day I was there my dad passed away. I thought long and hard about going to the race and decided to go because he would have been angry with me for wasting the tickets. My brother came down and we went to the race together. We had a really good time, but we felt like the race ended too soon. We thought for sure they were going to do a green white checker, but they did not it just seemed like it ended abruptly. I would totally go there again though one day, it was a fun experience.
I am looking forward to the race this weekend. I usually toss a couple of dollars on a few different drivers and this week I am feeling Jeff Gordon and my longshot bet as always Logano. I actually won a couple bucks a couple of weeks back when Logano came in 3rd place. I hope the weather is good and it is a good race.
I just started watching NASCAR last Sunday because I have been looking for something to get into and I had a lot of fun watching the race. I am not sure who my favorite driver is yet though, I know everyone has their number one driver that they like, but I’m not sure! I was cheering on Legano last week, but he ended up doing pretty bad. Who is your favorite driver?
I really do not think that when I get out of school that I want to take any jobs in retail. I have done retail before, and it is not bad, but I want to explore different avenues. I do not want to get stuck in the same kind of job like some people are, I am too adventurous for that!
I have often wondered if you have a Harley are the parts really expensive? I know that I would like to own a Harley one day, but I wonder if Harley parts are going to be really expensive when they need to be replaced. I hate having to replace expensive parts on my car, and I imagine on a bike it may be just a bit cheaper.
Now that we know that Ryan Newman won the big cup, we can start to focus on other upcoming events. The Daytona 500 is a big deal to a lot of race fans but all races are important. I got myself a Ryan Newman ball cap to put away in my NASCAR collection, it will never be worn but put in a display case for me to adore every once in awhile. My collection gets bigger all the time, and people are always in awe when they visit me and see it!
The countdown is on to Daytona 2008, there are only 34 days left. This means you have 34 days to find a way to Florida or 34 days to get a really huge television so that you can feel like you are there. I am going to have a big Daytona party here at my house with lots of beer and good times, although I would rather go to Florida it just isn’t in my cards this year. I know a dude that paid like 10k to have a condo down there, I wanna be that guy.
The American Red Cross is running out of blood stores, and so they’re finding some unique ways to encourage people to donate a pint or two of the red stuff. Give blood and you can get some free movie tickets. Not only that, but you can be entered to win tickets to the Daytona 500. Pretty cool.
