Loving My Ereader
February 27th, 2011 under Books, Education, Technology. [ Comments: none ]

I got myself one of those ebook readers and I have to say I really love it. I actually got myself an Android tablet so that I could also listen to music while reading my books and play the occasional Sodku game. I love it a lot and I am very happy that I have an easier way to carry around my books and I have an easy way to bookmark them!

GMAT Preperation
May 16th, 2010 under America, Books, Education. [ Comments: none ]

I was looking for tools for my gmat prep. I came across come really good classes at Knewton.com. I need to get the best score I possibly can. This is almost as important as knowing what your IQ test scores are. The classes that I came across seemed to be really helpful and raised my gmat score over fifty points. I was so proud of myself for doing so well. If I had to do it again I would take the class.

GMATs

If you need to take the GMATs then you may want to get yourself prepared by visiting www.Knewton.com because they have a very nice GMAT prep program. GMAT stands for graduate management admission test and this test is taken to get into a lot of business schools. I couldn’t imagine having to take another test while trying to get into school!

Downloading Audio Books

I think that it is really neat that you can actually find downloadable audio books. You can download all kinds of other CDs so why not? My grandma loves listening to audio books because her eyes are not as good as they used to be for reading, so she still gets the enjoyment of reading without really having to read. I told her that I would buy her a couple downloads and put them on an MP3 player for her.

Books

I think that hardback books are getting a little too expensive. Reading is becoming a lost pastime probably because it is expensive to buy a new release in hardcover. I usually wait for a book to come out in paperback so that it is not like 30 dollars or more. I often buy used books online because they are so much cheaper than anything else.

Barnes & Noble caves in
February 2nd, 2008 under Books, Criminals. [ Comments: none ]

I am so disgusted. Barnes & Noble has announced that they will carry the O. J. Simpson “hypothetical” confessional book If I Did It in their brick-and-mortar stores after all. Originally, they were only going to offer Simpson’s book online, and I thought that was bad enough. It’s a crappy thing when a business wants to make a profit off of a murderer’s confession.

Don’t forget to return your library book – even if you’re dead
January 12th, 2008 under America, Books, That's Outrageous!. [ Comments: none ]

A woman in New York returned an overdue library book to the New York County library. It was a book her mother had checked out, and then her mom died before she returned the book. When the daughter returned the book, the librarian told her she owned a fine of fifty cents – even though she had told him that her mother was DEAD. She paid the fine, but was – understandably – pissed.
